My Hero’s Journey

I write for one reason; it’s who I am. I started writing at the age of 12, finding refuge in the pages I wrote. I used writing and reading as an escape from the everyday horrors I faced at home. I weave together characters who mirror or mimic the effects of long-term abuse or trauma.

My characters often face the challenges of declining mental health. They must navigate the challenges they face while also looking inward and making a change.

As a survivor of abuse and childhood trauma, I use my unique perspective as a tool to shed light on the realities that many people face. Too many people feel isolated or uncertain when they are struggling. I want to help them feel seen and heard while advocating for reform in the mental health help available to us.
